Lindenhurst Chamber of Commerce features Santa in the Park

On Sunday, December 7, 1 to 3 pm, Santa will be at the Gazebo in town for pictures and hot chocolate, cookies, and gift bags will be distributed to the children. At 2:30-4 pm there will be skating around the tree in preparation for the annual Fire Department Parade and tree lighting set for 4 pm.

Copiague Knights of Columbus Parade

Saturday, December 6, at 1pm, the Annual Copiague Knights of Columbus Parade will march down Great Neck Road. There will be photos with Santa and refreshments at the Our Lady of Assumption Church auditorium afterwards.

Lindenhurst High School JrMROTC fills Stockings for Soldiers

The cadets at the Lindenhurst Sr. High School stuffed stockings with community donations for the soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of Operation Christmas Stocking. CO Kate Bator organized the "elves" with great precision and had included notes wishing Happy Holidays and thanks for their service to their country.

Lindenhurst Library Donates to Operation Christmas Stocking

This is their second year of helping out and it is much appreciated.

Lindenhurst Homemakers Sew up Stockings

The Evening Unit of the Lindenhurst Homemakers cut and sewed many stockings to be used for Operation Christmas Stocking which supplies Christmas Stockings to our troops in Iraq and Afganistan. Here they are shown displaying some of their handiwork.

Tanner Park Seniors Come through for Operation Christmas Stocking

The Seniors at the Tanner Park Senior Center in Copiague came through again for our Servicemen with Operation Christmas Stocking. There were generous donations of Stockings and the goodies to fill them with.

It was presented at the Long Island Board of Realtors and the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island 2008 Leadership Appreciation Luncheon held at the Woodbury Country Club.

Operation Christmas Stocking

All Hands on Deck! We need everyone to help support Operation Christmas Stocking again this year. Operation Christmas Stocking sends stockings to the soldiers deployed in Iraq and Afganistan during the holidays. There were pizza eating contest at the recent Copiague Chamber of Commerce International Festival. Sal on the right won the Saturday contest and Ryan on the left won the contest on Sunday. I can't believe they ate the whole thing! Did someone say Pepto Bismol?

International Fall Festival

Don't forget!

The new date for the International Fall Festival at Tanner Park is October 18, and 19.

There will be performances all day long and carnival rides. There will be a skateboard exibition, Dogs in Show, Pizza pie eating contest, arts and crafts, and all kinds of food, and much more.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Lindenhurst Oktoberfest

The Lindenhurst Oktoberfest is always fun. We were set up right near the gazebo and the beer tent with the oom-pah band.

After a rainy morning the skies cleared up and everyone came out and had a great time.

The Copiague Chamber of Commerce recently held their Business Expo at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Lindenhurst.

Cedar Beach Car Show

Members of the Copiague Chamber of Commerce were up at the crack of dawn serving coffee and donuts to the entrants of the Cedar Beach Car Show.

We were blessed with great weather and the great camaraderie of the fellow Chamber members.

Small Business Expo

I had the pleasure of meeting State Senator Owen Johnson at a recent Small Business Expo he held in Bay Shore.

It was very informative and a great chance to meet with other business people and Chambers of Commerce.

Many great ideas were shared.

Hurricane Preparedness Information

Monday, September 8, the Daniel Street Civic Association is hosting the Red Cross. They will be discussing Hurricane Preparedness. We are in the height of the hurricane season so this is valuable and timely information. With all the storms currently heading our way, any extra information we get will surely help.

The meeting will start at 7:30pm at the Margaret McKennna Building, (the old Niagara School), 350 Daniel Street, Lindenhurst.

Lindenhurst Kiwanis Steak Fry

Melissa Concert

The final concert at Copiague's Tanner Park was Melissa, a Country-Western group.

What a great season it was. With the high price of gas it was nice that you could have a great "stay-cation" in your own backyard with the wonderful performances provided by the Town of Babylon.

Doo-Wop Concert

Tremendous crowd for the Doo-Wop show at Copiague's Tanner Park. It had to be one of the largest crowds this year.

There were 3 different groups performing a first class show.

City Sounds Music Inc. Concert

City Sounds Music Inc. performed at Copiague's Tanner Park. The Copiague Chamber of Commerce treated the kids in the crowd to Light-Up bracelets when the sun went down.

Copiague Chamber of Commerce President Sharon Fattoruso led the Conga line through the crowd when they played Hot Hot Hot!

Does Copiague know how to Party? Yes Yes Yes!

Beach Hut Grand Opening

The 5th Dimension Concert





The Fifth Dimension performed at the new bandshell at Tanner Park. It was a great show that was very well attended by the appreciative fans.
The bay breezes were not as balmy as they had been at the last few concerts, so the members of the Copiague Chamber of Commerce were concerned their tent would go "Up, Up and Away". It was taken down a little earlier than usual and everyone stayed well grounded.

Howard Jones Concert

A Fantastic performance was put on by Howard Jones (pictured right) at the new Tanner Park Bandshell.

Last night was Kenny Vance and the Planetones with another great concert.

We have been so blessed with great weather for the free outdoor concerts put on by the Town of Babylon and their sponsors.

Don't forget, Saturday, July 19, is the Fifth Dimension at 7:30 pm.

The Inaugral Concert at the Tanner Park Bandshell







Steve Bellone cut the ribbon for the new Beach Hut restaurant at Tanner Park and then cut the ribbon for the new bandshell. There were many other elected officials and dignitaries on hand for the festivities. The Colorguard was from the Copiague Fire Department.
Al Jardine of the Beach Boys and his Endless Summer Band performed. Everyone had a wonderful time and the weather behaved for the electified crowd.

Tanner Park Bandshell Progress







Just trying to keep you up to date with the Tanner Park Bandshell progress. As you can see the parking lots have been paved and beautifully landscaped, The construction is still going on at the structure, but it looks like it will be ready for the July 4, concert of the Endless Summer Band with Al Jardine from the Beach Boys.
