North Lindenhurst Civic Association Celebrates Holiday at Allettos


The North Lindenhurst Civic Association celebrated the holidays with a delicious dinner by the warm cozy fireplace at Alletto's Restaurant in Lindenhurst. Legislator Wayne Horsley stopped by to greet everyone and extend holiday greetings. Wayne was delighted with the response for his coat drive that had just ended saying the community was very generous.

Carl Loicono received a lifetime achievement award from the Civic Association. Carl, the current Sargent-at-Arms has been a resident since 1936.

The executive board presented President Jack Hunsucker with a gavel when he presides over the meetings. A great time was had by all.

Christmas Cookie Trail and Holiday Fair

Friday, December 7, from 3-8pm, Grace United Methodist Church, 515 South Wellwood Avenue, (Liberty Avenue entrance) Lindenhurst is the place to be.

You'll find handmade crafts, collectibles, gifts, jewelry, chocolate houses, and much more! You can choose your own homemade cookies.

From 5-7pm, there will be a Roast Pork and Salad Bar dinner. Children 12 and under are $5, Adults $10 (over 99- free). Take out dinners will also be available.

Grace United Methodist supports Operation Christmas Stocking

Holly Young is holding one of the many stockings made by the Josephine Andrews' Youth Group at Grace Methodist Church.
Those stockings have been donated to Operation Christmas Stocking which tries to make the holidays a little cheerier for the soldiers deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Peer Leadership Christmas Tree Sale

The Peer Leadership Club at the Lindenhurst High School is having a Christmas Tree Sale from December 5th to December 7th at the Lindenhurst High School Courtyard. Trees, wreaths and roping will be sold from 2:30 to 6pm on those dates. If you have any questions or would like to reserve any of the above, please call 418-7361.

BS Troop 549 supports Operation Christmas Stocking

Boy Scout Troop 549 that meets at the Tooker Elementary School in West Babylon, showed their support for the troops deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan by creating and donating many Christmas stockings to Operation Christmas Stockings. What a great group of guys they are.

Copiague Christmas Parade

The Knights of Columbus of Our Lady of Assumption Church, is holding their annual Christmas Parade, Saturday, December 1.

The Parade starts at 1pm at the Washington Mutual Bank on the corner of Montauk Highway and proceeds up Great Neck Road to Our Lady of Assumption Church.

Thanksgiving Party at Tanner Park Senior Center


The visitors at the Tanner Park Senior Center in Copiague had a great time during their Thanksgiving Center Party. Lunch was catered from Bellisimos in Amityville. James the DJ had everyone out there dancing. Carol Bromm, Associate Broker from Century21 AA in Lindenhurst played "Let's Make a Deal" and had the audience searching their pockets and pocketbooks for paraphernalia for prizes. There were raffles and lots of fun for all. We get to do it again on December 7.

Marine Corp Junior ROTC pitches in

The cadets of the Marine Corp Junior ROTC at Lindenhurst High School will be filling the stockings made by the volunteers at the Tanner Park Senior Center in Copiague, for Operation Christmas Stocking.
They took time from their drill practice for the upcoming Marine Corp Birthday Ball this weekend to pose for this picture.
Operation Christmas Stocking sends stockings to the soldiers deployed in Iraq and Afganistan during the holidays. Daniel Street Civic Association Meeting

I will be the featured speaker at the next Daniel Street Civic Association Meeting. I will talk about the local Real Estate market, foreclosures and short sales.

The meeting is held at the Margaret McKenna Administration Bldg. (former Niagara School) on Monday, November 19, at 7:30pm.

Wanda McCabe of the Anthony Albano Agency gave a very informative lesson regarding changes in your home and auto insurance you may not have been aware of, at the October meeting.

Operation Christmas Stocking

Operation Chrismas stocking is sending Christmas Stockings to the troops deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. For more information contact www.BoatsieLongIsland.org.

Helping out at the Copiague Tanner Park Senior Center making the stockings to be filled are (l-r) Debbie DePrima, Marge Doyle, Millie Arcieri, Jackie Menna, Janet Hunsucker, Estelle Miller and Mickey Lind.

The JrMCROTC at Lindenhurst High School will be filling the stockings with the generous donations received from the Tanner Park Senior Center and others. Please drop off your filled stockings or donations for the stockings at Century21 AA, 1596 Straight Path (corner of Wellwood Avenue), by November 25, 2007.

You can help a soldier have a happy holiday too.
